Watching a Ted Talk by Elizabeth Gilbert (author of Eat, Pray, Love). Some interesting points:
-is it logical that someone should be afraid of the work that they feel were put on this earth to do?
NO. It is not logical.
Let’s dissect…The first thought might be DECLARING the work you feel you were put on this earth to do. For me, it’s creation. I’ve heard people ask “If you could do anything in the world, without worrying about money, what would you do?” Answers vary from person to person, and sadly sometimes it’s “I don’t know”. That response is a product of fear. Fear of even saying what you KNOW you want to do. People are already lost at even the earliest stage.
2. no one ever asks: “aren’t you afraid of being a chemical engineer?” Why is that? Because there is guaranteed money involved in being a chemical engineer?
Nothing is guaranteed and money isnt everything.
